4 Days Desert Experience From Marrakech

Itinerary

Day 1: High Atlas Crossing, Kasbah Ait Benhaddou & Dades Gorges

We'll kick off our adventure by picking you up from your Marrakech accommodation. Our route immediately heads toward the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2,260 meters above sea level. You'll witness a spectacular change of scenery, passing through Berber villages and enjoying the constantly shifting colours of the majestic mountains.

After descending, we'll arrive at the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou for lunch. This breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage site is famous as the setting for blockbusters like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. After a guided visit, we'll continue our drive, winding through the Valley of Roses before reaching the stunning Dades Gorges. We'll arrive just in time for sunset, settling into a charming, traditional hotel for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 2: The 1000 Kasbahs Road & Camel Trek into the Sahara

After breakfast, we'll begin the road of 1000 Kasbahs. We'll stop to explore the incredible cliff faces of the Todra Gorges, where you can take a walk deep into the canyon.

Our journey continues to the edge of the Sahara, passing through ancient villages like Tinghir and Erfoud. We’ll arrive in Merzouga before sunset, where our desert experience truly begins. We’ll switch our comfortable transport for a faithful camel caravan and trek into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes. You'll spend an incredible, unforgettable night under a blanket of a million stars in a traditional Berber desert camp. Dinner will be a feast accompanied by the rhythmic drumming and songs of the local Berber and Tuareg people.

Day 3: Sunrise in the Dunes & Return to Ouarzazate

Wake up early to witness a magical Sahara sunrise over the endless dunes, a moment you’ll never forget. After breakfast at the camp, we'll ride our camels back to Merzouga.

Our drive today takes us on a different, scenic route back toward Ouarzazate. We’ll pass through the serene Draa Valley, stopping for a visit and tea in the village of Agdz. The route offers breathtaking views of ancient kasbahs and palm groves. We'll arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa, and check into a romantic and beautiful hotel for a relaxing dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Ouarzazate, Atlas Studios & Journey Back to Marrakech

Following breakfast, we'll take a comprehensive tour of Ouarzazate. We'll explore the historical Kasbah of Taourirt and visit the legendary Atlas Film Studios, the largest and most famous movie studio in all of Africa.

From there, we begin our final, mesmerizing drive back over the High Atlas Mountains. We'll once again soak up the spectacular scenery as we make our descent. We will arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, concluding your unforgettable desert adventure.
